Department of -Basic Science & Humanities

Engineering graduates will be able to:

  1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply mathematics, science, engineering basics, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Analyze the issue: Identity, formulate, study research material, and analyze difficult engineering problems using the first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences to achieve justified findings.
  3. Solution design/development: Design solutions for complex technical challenges and system components or processes that match the given needs while taking into account public health and safety, cultural, socioeconomic, and environmental factors.
  4. Conduct complex problem investigations: To give valid results, use research-based knowledge and research methodologies such as experiment design, data analysis and interpretation, and information synthesis.
  5. Utilization of modern tools: Create, select, and apply appropriate methodologies, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, such as prediction and modeling, to complex engineering processes while being aware of their limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Use reasoning informed by contextual information to evaluate societal, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues, as well as the obligations that come with them in professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the societal and environmental impacts of professional engineering solutions, and demonstrate an understanding of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Apply ethical concepts and commit to professional ethics, duties, and engineering practice norms.
  9. Individual and teamwork: Work well as an individual as well as as a member or leader in different teams and multidisciplinary situations.
  10. Communication: Effectively communicate with the engineering community and society at large on complicated engineering operations, such as comprehending and writing effective reports and design documentation, making successful presentations, and giving and receiving clear directions.
  11. Demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of engineering and management principles and apply them to one's own work, as a team member and leader, to manage projects, and in interdisciplinary situations.
  12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and be prepared to engage in, independent and life-long learning in the broad context of technological development.
