National Service Scheme (NSS)

One of the key youth programs run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports is the National Service Scheme (NSS), a voluntary and value-based student youth program. The Scheme was started with the main goal of helping student youth develop their personalities and character via volunteer community service.

Motto: The motto of the NSS is ‘Not Me But You’

NSS attempts to establish meaningful linkages between “Campus and Community”, “College and Village” and “Knowledge and Action”.

Aims & Objectives

The aims and objectives of the NSS are

• To volunteer in the community while attending school
  
• To provide students the chance to engage constructively and creatively with the neighborhood surrounding the campus of a university
• To awaken pupils' social conscience
